Depending on the model, the mounting locations may vary slightly.
How to remove the front bumper
- open the hood.
- under the hood, unscrew the two screws (twisted from top to bottom), release the latches (indicated in the diagram by blue arrows) and remove the radiator grille.
- release from the latches (indicated by blue arrows) and remove the adjustment between the grille and bumper.
- under the headlights, unscrew two screws (twisted from top to bottom).
- we unscrew two screws in the front part (in the lower grid).
- from the bottom side, pull out four pistons (inserted from the bottom up).
- depending on the side of the disassembly, we turn the wheels out.
- in the wheel arches, we unscrew three screws on each side, which fasten the fenders and sides.
- release the retainers in the wings (indicated by the blue arrows).
- with the assistant, we remove the bumper forward (we look so as not to break the wires).
- disconnect the fog lamp connectors (if any).
Volkswagen LUPO 3L TDI, FSI, GTI:
The cover plate with the bumper is made as one piece, otherwise the attachment points are almost the same.
How to remove the rear bumper
- open the trunk lid.
- in the trunk opening, we unscrew two screws, release them from the retainers and remove the rear lights.
- under the taillights, we unscrew the two screws that secure the upper part of the rear bumper.
- on the bottom side, unscrew the two screws that secure the lower part.
- in the wheel arches, we unscrew four screws on each side, which fasten the fenders (rear part).
- release the retainers in the wings (indicated by the blue arrows).
- with an assistant, we remove the rear bumper back (we look behind the wires).
- disconnect the license plate light connectors.
