How to remove the front bumper
- open the hood.
- under the hood, unscrew the four TORX screws that secure the radiator grille. If you need to remove the radiator grille separately, it must be released from the latches. We take the lower part under the headlight and jerk it parallel to the floor, releasing the latches, moving to the other headlight.
- we turn the wheels one by one into the inner part of the arch.
- we unscrew three screws on the left and right sides, which fasten the plastic slats (their front part).
- on the left and right sides, bend the edge of the fender to the side and unscrew the screws behind it (twisted from bottom to top), which attach the corners to the wings.
- on the bottom side, we unscrew eight screws (TORX, twisted from bottom to top), which fasten the lower part
- release the latches in the wings (marked with blue arrows on the diagram, pull the corners towards you).
- now the most difficult part, we release the six latches behind the radiator grille (marked with blue arrows in the illustration), which fasten the upper part. If you removed the grate separately, then release the latches with a flat screwdriver. If the grille was not removed, then you need to jerk the entire bumper forward (we look so as not to break the wires).
- disconnect the electrical equipment connectors.
How to remove the rear bumper
- lift the trunk lid.
- remove the pads near the taillights.
- under the pads, unscrew two screws on each side and remove the taillights (in Volkswagen Tharu, the taillights are screwed from the trunk).
- in the wheel arches, we unscrew four screws on each side, which fasten the fenders (rear part, TORX screws).
- behind the fenders, we unscrew one screw on each side (twisted from bottom to top), which fix the corners to the wings.
- in the lower part, we unscrew six screws and pull out two pistons (twisted and inserted from the bottom up).
- release the latches in the wings (marked with blue arrows, pull the corners towards you).
- release the latches under the taillights (marked with blue arrows, use a flat screwdriver to lift the latches and pull the sides towards you).
- (you will need a second person) remove the bumper back (pay attention to the wires).
- disconnect the electrical equipment connectors (if any).
