How to remove the front bumper

Volkswagen Touareg Mk1 2002-2006

- open the hood.

- remove the Volkswagen badge in the radiator grille (it is held on the latches, you need to pry it from the bottom and pull it towards you).

- through the opening of the icon, unscrew one screw that secures the radiator grille.

- under the hood, through the holes, you need to press the four retainers with a thin flat screwdriver and remove the radiator grille.

- in the opening of the radiator grille, we unscrew the five screws that secure the upper part of the front bumper.

- on the bottom side, we unscrew the four screws (twisted from bottom to top) that secure the lower part.

- turn the wheels to the side.

- in the wheel arches, we unscrew three screws on each side, which fasten the fenders.

- with an assistant, we remove the front bumper forward from the guide profiles in the wings (we release the latches under the headlights).

- disconnect the electrical connectors.

- disconnect the headlight washer hoses.

 

Volkswagen Touareg Mk1 facelift 2006-2010

- under the hood, we unscrew the four screws that secure the radiator grille and the two screws that secure the upper part of the front bumper.

- we unscrew two hidden screws behind the lower radiator grille (twisted towards the engine compartment).

- on the bottom side, we unscrew six screws (twisted from the bottom up), which fasten the lower part.

- in the wheel arches, we unscrew three screws on each side, which attach the fenders (front part) and one screw on each side (twisted from bottom to top), which attach the corners to the wings.

- with an assistant, we remove the front bumper forward from the guide profiles in the wings.

- on the right side of the traffic hike, we release the common electrical connector.

- disconnect the headlight washer hoses (so that no liquid flows out, lift the hose up).

 

How to remove the rear bumper

- lift up the trunk lid.

- in the trunk opening, we pull out the four plugs and unscrew the four screws that attach the taillights.

- release the rear lights from their hinges and remove them.

- under the taillights, we unscrew the four screws (twisted from top to bottom) that secure the upper part of the rear bumper.

- we unscrew the four screws (twisted from the bottom up) that secure the lower part

- in the wheel arches, we unscrew ten screws that secure the fenders and sides.

- with an assistant, we remove the bumper back from the guide profiles in the wings (pay attention to the wires).

- disconnect the electrical equipment connectors (if any).
